Meet Boston Pugsley

He's a 6 week old Bugg (Pug and Boston Terrier) and the newest member of the Miller family. As you can see, he's named after his heritage. He is also known as BP which is ironic because he has some black mixed in his fur which makes him look like he was pulled out of an oil spill.

That's right. The second addition to the Miller family in 6 months. Are we crazy? Yes. Probably so.
There are two reasons we got this dog.
1. Caitlynne's sister, Bevynne, is getting a new puppy. Caitlynne going to the pound is a dangerous combination.

2. Scarlett, our 4 year Puggle (Pug and Beagle mix) has put on the pounds over the last few months. Call it sympathy weight from Caitlynne being pregnant. But, every time I look in the backyard she's just sitting there. She may look lean, but it's a flattering angle.

Plus, she needs a friend. Since the arrival of Paxton, she receives considerably less attention from us. So, now she has a friend to keep her entertained. And after some initial sniffing, the playing began.

This lasted for about 3 minutes. Then Scarlett was too good for it.

It was then time for him to meet Sticker. Which is a cat that thinks it's a dog. Or Scarlett thinks she's a cat. It's hard to tell, but they are too good of friends to be a rival species.

Their first meeting was uneventful. But, don't be fooled by Sticker's hospitality. He had his claws out the entire time. Luckily he didn't feel that he needed to use them.

Sticker and Boston Pugsley actually have a lot in common. They both like to keep clean and they think licking their legs is enough to get the job done.

There was some more playing (mostly solo as his siblings feel they are too good for him).

And after all of the playing, introducing and exploring he was pretty worn out.

He's 6 months old now - sort of a miracle

We celebrated Paxton's 6 month birthday last week. This was kind of a big deal because Caitlynne and I have no idea what we are doing in this parenting thing.

Why are my eyes closed?
It was good to have both of our families over for dinner.

Caitlynne's Mom and Caitlynne with Pax. He wants the bling

My Dad and Granny Pat

Even the aunts and uncles made it.

Bevynne and Teighynne

Great Granny, my Mom and Caitlynne

My Papaw, Granny , my Mom and myself

My Step dad Gordon, my Mom and Paxton

So, as you can imagine, there was no shortage of attention for Paxton.

And of course, there was no shortage of gifts. Completely ridiculous because it was only a half birthday. It's time to toughen him up a bit.

The Holy City - Part I

We were in Tulsa a few weeks ago. I love the old historic churches that can be found in Downtown. I hope you enjoy.

More to come. I ran out of time to edit photos this week. See more of my photography on my Flickr page.

Paxton puts the Boomer in Sooner

This is a big weekend every year. In fact, the Saturday before labor day is the third best day of the year behind Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's college football kickoff. This year was even better because it's Paxton's first OU football season.

Here are the events of this big day for Paxton. It started with a bath. Unlike Texas fans, Sooners are clean people.

Next it was time to embellish Paxton in Sooner traditions and heritage. Our friends Ryan and Tabatha got Paxton a great tool for this.

He read...

And read...

And then got bored and fell asleep.

He quickly was interested again when a ball was brought into the picture.

Paxton won't remember this first OU season, but we sure will. Maybe one day we will be watching him on kickoff weekend.

Remember you can see my wife Caitlynne's blog on her take on being a mom. You can also see more of my photos on my Flickr page.
