Week 16 of 52 - Moss on a log

Last weekend we went out to a family lake house at Lake Tenkiller. After a 10 minute walk down a nature trail I couldn't find anything really unique to shoot. My plan was to do a long exposure day shot, but it didn't work out. Maybe for week 17.

The Holy City - Part I

We were in Tulsa a few weeks ago. I love the old historic churches that can be found in Downtown. I hope you enjoy.

More to come. I ran out of time to edit photos this week. See more of my photography on my Flickr page.

Ah the lake - A great summer pasttime

We took our first family trip (since Paxton was born) this weekend to my Dad's lake house at Lake Tenkiller. You start noticing nature more when you're out of the city, especially the sky.

Sunset from Gore, Oklahoma
I like living in Oklahoma City (okay, a suburb of OKC) but there is a charm to small towns like Gore. Gore has a population of about 900, and it's probably the largest town that backs-up to Lake Tenkiller. It's like being in a country song.

We spent Saturday at the pool with Paxton. He has an infant pool raft. He's not so sure about it yet, but he does okay in it. It will probably work for him better next year. Caitlynne and I went out on the lake on Sunday. Paxton stayed behind with my Dad and Elaine.

So, what did Paxton do since he doesn't get to go out on the lake, yet?
He got some light reading in...

And he was very surprised by the ending...

 He made some creepy faces...

Scarlett plays this game where she chews on her toy, then she will pick it up and come a few feet closer to you and chew it some more. She gets closer and closer until she's in your lap. This is her attempt to make you jealous.

She doesn't realize Paxton will be happy to chew on it if he gets a hold of it.

And Closer...

But, due to some parental restrictions on her engagement level with Paxton, that was as close as she could get. Her next move would have been a pounce on his back.

Paxton did great in the car. We had to stop on the way home to feed him, so we stopped at the only place that didn't feel like a horror movie gas station scene, Firelake Grand Casino! While Caitlynne fed him, I walked around taking some night photos which is pretty much impossible without a tripod and a cable release. But I did my best...
