Week 16 of 52 - Moss on a log

Last weekend we went out to a family lake house at Lake Tenkiller. After a 10 minute walk down a nature trail I couldn't find anything really unique to shoot. My plan was to do a long exposure day shot, but it didn't work out. Maybe for week 17.

Week 14 - Sky Blue

This sums my week up. Although, bad luck seemed to follow me in Dallas and Chesapeake. Just glad I'm back home.

Project 52 week 12

I think the whole point of a project 52 is to learn to recognize photo opportunities in everyday life.

I stumbled upon this opportunity on my way into Downtown OKC when heading to work one morning.

Week 11 - Mr. Sticker

Here's a little love for the only cat I've ever loved (love's a strong word)

Week 9 of Project 52: Game Night

I took a lot of photos this weekend, but we had a game night with some friends and family. So, in celebration of Game Night.

Yep, we love bathtime

This is an extension of my week 8 Project 52 post. There were just so many dramatic faces and splashes to pass up the opportunity.

Project 52 - Week 8: Bathtime

The most fun I have had on this project 52 adventure is when I have shot photography of something quick that just came out as a cool picture as opposed to a picture setup.

While weeks one and two were fun, weeks like this are even better.

Check back later this week to see the rest of the photos I took of this joyous occasion. You can see all of my photography on my Flickr page.

Week 7 of 52: Generations

This photo is inspired by my Grandfather's 79 birthday. He was taken out of school well before high school. He was raised extremely poor and spent his days picking cotton. When he was barely a teenager he followed my grandmother to South Texas when her family moved. They married at a very young age and they have been married for around 65 years. He ran a business for 35 years, has five daughters and a lot of grandkids and great grandkids. It's really an incredible story that I have dramatically shortened.

Project 52 - Week 6

Caitlynne gave me the idea for this post. I did a little bit of cross-processing in Photoshop.

Week 5 of Project 52

This was taken in a tree in our backyard. It was pretty bright outside, but I wanted more blue and gray in the sky. So, I used a custom white balance on the camera.

Project 52 - Week 4

Still going strong with Project 52. Similar to week 1, I went back to some dark shots with long exposure and candle light. This was shot with a warming filter for about 1 and a half minutes.

Project 52 - Week 3

We went out to Lake Hefner in OKC on Saturday. It's one of the best nature views in the city. With a sunset and some great colors it was a great place for week 3.

I actually had a few other photos that I really liked for this post. So check back later this week as I plan on posting them.

You can see Week 1 and week 2 on this blog or check out my Flickr to see the rest of my photos.

Project 52 - Week 2

On to the second week of my Project 52. As with week 1, this shot took a lot of time to get the lighting like I wanted it (still didn't get it like I liked it).

I'm sure that the further into the year I get the less intensive my shots will be.

Project 52 - The first week

I don't really do New Year resolutions. If I am passionate enough to make a change about something I can start right away. And if I just think of something I should change because it's the beginning of a year then it's probably not something I'm going to stick with.

So, I am starting a Project 365 - in a sense. I am going to do a Project 52 with one unique photo a week. It's not a resolution. Just a convenient time for me to start a project. So here's to another great year...
